Earnhardt spins out! [23 Oct 2006|10:26pm]

[ mood | amused ]

Dale Earnhardt spun himself out and took a finish outside the top 20 in the race at Martinsville! I'll drink to that

Dale Jr. already broken at Martinsville [02 Apr 2006|01:19pm]

It was just lap three when I saw Dale Jr's car smashed on the tv. It was a beautiful sight. Then I saw Robby Gordon's car looking like some kind of shopvac dragging around hoses. That was funny.

R.I.P Paul Dana

...you went doing something that you loved

from yahoo

HOMESTEAD, Fla. (AP) -- Driver Paul Dana died after a two-car crash Sunday during the warmup for the season-opening IRL IndyCar Series race at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

The other driver, Ed Carpenter, was awake and alert at a Miami hospital, IRL officials said.

Dana, 30, a former motorsports journalist with a degree from Northwestern, was a rookie who competed in three IRL races for Ethanol Hemelgarn Racing last year with a best finish of 10th in the race at Homestead.

The Toyota Indy 300 race was expected to be run as scheduled. Bobby Rahal, co-owner of Rahal Letterman Racing for which Dana was to race this season, said the team's other two cars -- driven by Danica Patrick and Buddy Rice -- will be pulled out of the race.

I had just turned the television on a few seconds before Carpenter/Dana's crash. I'm empathetic to his family and friends and I hope God helps them through this hard time.

Dale Earnhardt Jr fails to win Atlanta [31 Oct 2005|10:52am]

Despite leading the most laps, Dale Jr found himself needing to pass more cars to get a win. When the race ended Earnhardt came come fourth behind Mark Martin, Jeff Gordon and Carl Edwards.

Edwards picked up his third win of the season and his second at Atlanta, sweeping the series there. A total of 16 cars finished on the lead lap.

Martin Truex Jr finished 40th and Michael Waltrip who is riding out his time at DEI finished 11th. The racers next head to Texas Morotspeedway.

Earnhardt, Waltrip see day end early [03 Oct 2005|11:49am]

Dale Earnhardt and Michael Waltrip saw their day end early after an accident on lap 19.

It ended when Jimmie Johnson got into Elliott Sadler, triggering a multi car pileup in Turn 1 that collected Sadler, Earnhardt, Johnson, Mike Skinner and Mark Martin.

The race marked the 4th DNF for Earnhardt Jr and the 7th for Waltrip.

Dale Jr has bad breaks [25 Sep 2005|04:04pm]

After starting fourth Dale Earnhardt Jr worked his way up to second place and seemed to have a good car until he complained of break problems. After sitting on pit road Earnhardt re-entered the track 7 laps down.

He finished the race in 31st seven laps down.

Chase begins without Earnhardt [23 Sep 2005|09:48am]

I appoligize for the lack of updates. The NASCAR race for the Chase began without Dale Earnhradt. Earnhardt also recently switched back to Tony Eury as his crew chief. After finishing fifth Earnhardt said that the car ran great and the motor was good. I find it hard to believe Tony Eury switching to Earnhardt's team somehow made the engine better in a week.

Earnhardt did effect the outcome of the race as Tony Stewart got into the back of him as he was entering pit road. Stewart later was passed at the end of the race by Ryan Newman and finished second.

Earnhardt elimated [05 Sep 2005|02:09am]

[ mood | creative ]

While Matt Kenseth, Jeff Gordon, Ryan Newman, Jamie McMurray all head into next week looking to make the race for the chase one NASCAR driver saw his night go up in smoke.

Early in the race Dale Earnhardt could be heard talking about how the motor didn't sound well. He said that he wanted to go out with fire and smoke. While racing in the back of the pack Earnhardt got his smoke. The engine dropped and so did any chances he had at finishing the race.

Earnhardt said that his championship hopes were over "80 laps ago" more like 8 weeks ago bud. He will race in the 26th race of the season at Richmond.

Kyle Busch went on to pick up his first victory.

Signs are looking more like he will be driving the #11 car for Joe Gibbs :))

Earnhardt falls to 16th in points [21 Aug 2005|05:34pm]

[ mood | amused ]

Afte an 18th place finish in Sunday's race Dale Earnhardt Jr fell to 16th in the point standings 54 points behind 15th place driver Matt Kenseth.

With his latest finish Earnhardt Jr is 724 points behind points leader Tony Stewart and 158 behind 10th place driver Jamie McMurray. Earnhardt is only 11 points ahead of 17th place driver Joe Nemecheck.

The next race is at Bristol Motorspeedway in Bristol TN. Earnhardt finished 4th there earlier this season. Of course that was early April when Earnhardt had a chance in the points race.

Dale Jr remains out of Top 10 in Race for Chase :) [14 Aug 2005|07:37pm]

No surprise.

Even with a tenth place finish at Watkins Glen Dale Earnhardt Jr is 163 points behind the tenth place Carl Edwards in the NASCAR Nextel Cup Standings.

Another race down means one more closer to Earnhardt Jr being elimated from contention. :)

Ned Yost... water boy [08 Aug 2005|08:58pm]

ESPN's telecast of the Milwaukee Brewers hosting the St Louis Cardinals had a Dale Earnhardt reference.
It talked about how Brewers manager Ned Yost served as a water boy to the deceased Earnhardt during the 1994 strike shortended baseball season.

Yost also has a photo of Earnhardt above his desk. If Dale Earnhardt is looking over the Brewers he's got some work to do with the talent on that team....

Earnhardt finishes 43rd at Indy [07 Aug 2005|06:10pm]

[ mood | accomplished ]

Dale Earnhardt Jr kept hearing how he was still in the Chase for the Nextel Cup. How he could somehow make it into the top ten and win this year.

Those dreams were crushed as the redheaded bastard child hit the infield wall following a restart. Reports say that Mike Skinner got into the back of Earnhardts car.

In a move that will benefit everyone here I've taken the time to make a video of the incident. It can be found here http://www.hit-the-wall.com/html/videos/2005-08-07_earnhardtwrecks.wmv

I don't feel sorry though. I mean how many times has Earnhardt Jr bumped someone? Even Michael Waltrip couldn't escape his wrath.

Now all the NASCAR analysts are saying Earnhardt has been elimiated from the "Chase for the Cup" but I'll still take the time to list the current points.

Earnhardt falls to 16th behind Jeff Gordon and Matt Kenseth. He's 627 points out of first which makes him 191 points behind Carl Edwards who is currently tenth.

Earnhardt Jr wrecks at Indy [07 Aug 2005|03:17pm]

[ mood | happy ]

Dale Earnhadt just wrecked at Indianopolis Motor Speedway. On a restart Earnhardt was turned around and hit the infield wall before catapulting up the track and hitting teammate Martin Truex Jr.

Videos and more coming later.

Kenseth, Mears deny they are headed to DEI [07 Aug 2005|09:53am]

By Marty Smith, NASCAR.COM

03:10 PM EDT (19:10 GMT)

INDIANAPOLIS -- Matt Kenseth and Casey Mears on Saturday denied recent speculation that they would leave their respective teams in favor of driving the No. 15 Chevrolet at Dale Earnhardt Inc.

Casey Mears Credit: Rusty Jarrett/Getty Images

"Am I going to DEI? No," Kenseth said following Nextel Cup Series practice at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. "I'm happy at Roush Racing."

Fair enough. Mears?

"I'll say right now I'm 99.9 percent sure I'm going to be with Ganassi next year," Mears said.

"We had a meeting a few days ago and everything looks real positive to do something for next year, and right now we're 100 percent effort to try to make something happen for here, next year, for Ganassi.

"Without making any announcements, we're trying to put things together for here at Ganassi."

DEI competition director Richie Gilmore said Saturday that the organization was eyeing a driver younger in age than Dale Earnhardt Jr., that is also very marketable and was very fast in Saturday's practice.

Mears is nearly four years younger than Junior. And he was atop the speed chart Saturday.

Mears said, though, that he hasn't so much as spoken with DEI about driving its third car.

"I haven't talked with anybody," Mears said. "Almost every team that's had some sort of availability for next year has mentioned, hey, if you are let go next year we'd be interested in having you, but nothing's gone beyond that.

"I'm trying to stay here (at Ganassi). I came from open wheel stuff with no experience at all, and Chip gave me a first year, and we suffered through that, the whole team did, and they've stuck by me the last couple years.

"They want to make something happen for next year and we're in the middle of figuring that out."

Chip Ganassi said he hopes an agreement can be reached.

"Casey's a good guy, he's been with us in the past and I'm hoping he's going to be with us in the future," Ganassi said.

What are Earnhardt Jr fans doing today? [26 Jul 2005|08:45pm]

I decieded to take a look at 5 random Earnhardt Jr communities/fan journals. I wanted to see what fans of the #8 car were thinking/doing/whining about on a Tuesday. A random Tuesday in 2005.

Friends Only
Friends Only
Family photo (users dad has a mullet and is missing 2 teeth)
A picture of hotdogs spelling out "git-r-done"
and of course the imfamous and heard many tiems "i dont like livejournal"

It's not like I'm going to comment or anything so Live Journal can't do anything for that. (Kinda like how they can't do anything about me posting a picture of Dale Earnhardt hitting the wall in Daytona) So I'll do that again just for old time sakes. Well and to piss people off.

It's not like I wanted Dale Earnhardt Sr to die or anything. I would of been more then happy with him being paralyzed or something.

Ok I get serious. I never hoped for Dale Earnhardt to die. It just kinda happened. Did it bother me he was dead? Did I cry? Nope, the thought never crossed my mind. He wasn't the first driver to die on the track and he won't be the last. He was simply just another driver who died to me. Is that the wrong way to look at it? I think not.

Sure it's fine to remember Dale every now and then and if you want to pray for him after you had your milk and vitamins then that's your choice. Sure morn other drivers too if you want. But don't give me the pity story about Dale being dead over and over and how I can't use images of him wrecking or talk about his wreck. Did you people not have internet or a newspaper Subscription when Dale hit the wall at Daytona?

How could someone value Dale Earnhardt's life more then Adam Petty, Blaise Alexander or Neil Bonnett? The fact still remains and has since Dale hit the wall.

Dale is dead move on.
